Admit it....Your Jealous!

Sorry for the wait. I know everyone is on pins and needles. Yes, I finally rode my bicycle. It's a Specialized Dolce (which means SWEET!). I've been calling her pinky tuscadero, but I'm open to suggestions. That name isn't really doing anything for me.
I was able to sneak out for 6 miles with Jeff in between raindrops the day of Jake's party. I rode her on the trainer downstairs on Sunday (again, raining) for 1/2 hour. And for a good hour 1/2 on Tues. with the S.W.A.T. team. Actually I just rode with my sister, Jenny cuz everyone else was so far ahead of me that I couldn't even see them. I am still working on endurance and speed. Thank you, Jen for hangin back with me.
I love it! It's not a super high end bike, but for my beginner self it's just great. I'm still getting used to the pedals. I'm used to Jeff's clips so the round ones are weird to me especially if I stand up and pedal. They are very wiggly and It feels like I might slip off and hurt myself. I think I need to give them just a little more time and then decide if I like them or not. They were kinda expensive so hopefully they will work out. And they are pink so I can't give them to Jeff. I'm guessing Jenny would take them off of my hands for me. The seat feels fine too. I don't know if any seat would feel good at this point until I build up my ass callus's. You would think with this much padding that I would be fine but apparently the amount of "Junk in the Trunk" has nothing to do with it. I love the extra brakes on the handle bars. I spend most of my time up there and I like the easy access. My only regret is that I bought P.T. so late. The S.W.A.T. team is done practicing for the year due to pool closing, but I'm sure I'll get more rides in with Jeff and the Wimmer's. I am realizing that I need to buy more biking clothing. I ended up wearing Jeff's padded spandex shorts (which are way too small for me), and his shirt that is uber tight also. My brother-in-law, Mike was kind enough to post a picture of me in my get up on his blog. Thanks Mike, I'll remember that :)

I want to ride my bicycle.....I want to ride my bike.....

Yesterday I bought a sweet new Specialized Black with pink accents bike! and I haven't been able to ride it yet. Last night I was preparing cakes etc for Jacob's b-day party which is in 1/2 hour. Now it's raining and is supposed to rain for the next 6 days. AHHHHHH. Pinky tuscadaro (that's her name) is calling to me from the garage. I might have to take her downstairs with the trainer after the party just to make her feel welcome. Jeff had the nerve to ask if he could ride her around the block this morning.........AS IF! I get the maiden voyage!

Where has the time gone

I haven't worked out in about 8 days. Between Taylor's two a day swim practices, Jacob's starwars games/sleepovers, Izzie's sleep schedule, and jeff's half marathon training, I have been having trouble squeezing anything in. I could have worked out wed night around 7:00, but I was so tired from the baby not sleeping that well I just didn't have any gas left. I didn't work out tonight until about 9:30 because when I was ready to go Jeff was acting ticked. I felt bad that I wrecked his workout plans. I walked around the block and came back so he could run. Then I waited to see if he would go running and he didn't. So I left at 9:30 and ran a 3 mile route that goes past taco bell, culvers, mcdonald's and pizza hut. I don't know why I just tortured myself with all those smells. I ran most of it, stopping to walk fast up the hill about two blocks. It felt pretty rough at first then got better. I'm starting to be able to run without feeling like I'm dying. And yes , Mike, I'm planning on doing the cow chip this year. I may have to get a babysitter though. I don't think Izzie would do well with that much time in the car. We'll see what I can find. Jacob's birthday party is this saturday. So, tomorrow I'll spend most of the day cleaning and making party stuff. Maybe I can sneak in a short run. we shall see :)

I'm still debating on the danskin tri. It's very frustrating to know how much training I should be doing and how much I am able to do right now. And once school starts, it will only be more difficult cuz Jeff will be working more. This work crap is really getting in our way. If anyone wants to sponsor us to quit our jobs and pay us to work out and do triathlons feel free.

My Brother in Law ROCKS!

It has been brought to my attention that I need to thank Mike Wimmer for Hooking me and my husband up. Jeff and Mike used to work together at Goex Corp. Mike set us up on a blind date and it has been true love ever since. Without Mike, my life would be a hollow, dull, meaningless existence. I am grateful to him for setting Jeff and I up and for all of my beautiful children (that belong to Jeff...not Mike....that sounded bad). Did I forget anything Mike? Let me know :)

Work totally sucked today! Air conditioner was on the fritz. It was about 80 degrees and we have to wear smocks, masks, gloves and goggles. I had sweat dripping between my boobs and sweated off all my make-up by 9:00 am. Not a good look for me. Turns out it was just the breaker that needed to be turned back on......nice! So at lunch time I was so hot I got a frozen cappuccino from Kwik Trip to cool off (Naughty girl!) . So tonight I decided I needed to SUFFER! I ran for about 50 minutes straight. Stopped to walk up 2 short hills only. That's the farthest I have run without stopping to date. Felt pretty good when I was done. I need to get more 80's music on the IPOD. It's hard to walk to motley crue!

Oregon, WI Fun Run

Thurs - Per my P.T., 1 hour slow run trying to keep my heart rate between 140-150. That's not as easy as it sounds for me. I kept going way up to 160 then walking fast til I got back down to 140. It still takes a long time for my heart rate to come down. Still not in very good shape.

Fri- took day off because a) I seriously did not have 1/2 hour to myself to squeeze anything in and b) My husband and I are running the Oregon, WI Fun Run Saturday. Went to a congrats party for one of my friends who just recently got a teaching job. I ate horribly and had a couple margaritas. I held it down to two drinks even though they tasted REALLY REALLY good!

Sat - After rousing the 14 year old, 7 1/2 year old, and the baby to drive to the race, Taylor and Izzie slept all the way up. Jacob rode in the car with my sister, Jenny, and Brother in law, Mike, so he could watch Star Wars on the way up. Jacob did the kids 1K (totally milked it for a while afterwords). Then Jeff and Mike did the 10K while Me and Jenny did the 5K. Jenny was signed up for the 10K and decided to do the 5K with me instead. She said she wasn't feeling like the 10 K today, but I think she was sympathizing with me cuz I started out DFL in the race. That sucks. Nothing like looking at the back of some old ladies head for most of the race and watching her get farther and farther ahead. We did beat one guy......barely. He was ahead of us for a long time. He kept looking back to make sure he wasn't last and if we were walking he would walk. When we started running again he would run. We finally caught him almost at the very end of the race. Then I glanced back and saw him speeding up................"OH HELL NO!", i said then we kicked her down and beat him. So at least I wasn't last! Thank you Jen for slowing down with me. My time was 39 minutes and some odd seconds. Pretty good for me I guess. Next time I'll go to a bigger race with more people so I'm not last. Jenny told me to find someone wearing rockports and walking shorts and try to beat them but there weren't any today. Maybe next time:)

Jeff did awesome as usual (10 K in 43 minutes). Mike missed a turn and accidentally shortened his race. I was excited for him for breaking an hour but he wasn't happy cuz it wasn't accurate. Jenny's time didn't count cuz she totally slowed down for me. So, she just got in an easy short workout today. Next time she should leave me in the dust and go for her PB. :)
